Learn to Fly Fish

Fish nine miles of Southern Maine's most scenic river, the Saco, while you learn the basics of fly fishing. This trip consists of six hours on the water instruction. Even if you have a basic knowledge of fly fishing, this day on the water will enhance your skills very quickly. Visit an active Bald Eagle Nest or watch as these icons of America swoop down to prove they are the superior anglers. Learn to read the water, understand insect lifestyles and how "matching the hatch" improves your fishing success.

Learn to Fly Fish

The Saco River, in southern Maine, is just minutes from the beaches and shopping malls. Our classroom is a 16-foot, 50th Anniversay Edition Alumacraft and our day of instruction will be along nine miles of scenic freshwater. Students are usually impressed by the relative wilderness settingof this section of the Saco. It's difficult to believe that the heart of Maine's busiest tourist industry is just a few miles away.
Wildlife watchers  will not be disappointed. Our class begins within sight of a pair of nesting Bald Eagles and along the way you could see deer, moose, wild turkeys and waterfowl.

All equipment is furnished.Just bring along a light snack, jacket or sweater, sunscreenand camera. We provide plenty of ice-cold bottled water.Warm water wading opportunity on parts of the river. Bring sandals, sneakers or wade barefoot.

Maine fishing license is required, and may be purchased at Saco Bay Tackle Company,
Kittery Trading Post, Cabelas in Scarborough, ME,  or online at
